How to Make a cool banner on Paint.NET!

Okay so this tutorial will show how to make a cool looking banner on Paint.NET!

What you need

-Paint.NET (install here)
-Pokemon render/png/image (could be any image you like!)


Tutorial Starts!

I'm using this Reshiram render for my banner.

1. Load up Paint.NET and create a canvas of 800x200 size.


2. Paste in the image you using. Go to Edit > Paste than a pop-up box will show. Click on Keep Canvas Size. Do this so the image won't expand the canvas size for the image to fit.

3. Place your image where you want on the canvas. The background of the image can be transparent. Choose the bucket tool:

4. You see the Fill Bucket tool? Click on that and if you see a Colors pop-up box that's where you determine the colors for all you effects and such things that require coloring in things. I just kept the color black because it seemed perfect for Reshiram.

5. Okay now you see the weird box thing around your image, DO NOT EXPAND THAT!!!! That will make your image bigger and make it look ugly. Select the Rectangle Select tool than drag it to make sure it goes over all of the canvas.

6. Don't worry or fret that the canvas looks blue, that shows that the entire canvas can be colored or added with effects. So now I'm coloring in all that extra white space so select the bucket tool than determine which color you want the bucket fill tool to color which color.

7. Fill in that white space with the Fill Bucket tool with the color you chose and it'll fill it in! =D Now effects time!

8.Click the gradient tool than gradients will show up at the top of the menu bar.

9. Make sure you created 2 layers after picking the gradient tool. Do Windows > Layers than the Layers Pop-up box will appear than choose the New Layer (The paper with + sign) Than click on the layer named Layer 2 so all your effects go on that layer.

10.Pick the gradient you like. I chose the radial gradient. Now play with the gradient and set it however you like. Than go to the Layers pop-up and than choose Layer properties. Control the opacity bar and set the opacity to however you want till your happy with the image than press OK.(optional: If you see the drop-down bar, that's where you could make your graphics more detailed but you don't have to do that)

11. Now for adding text!!! Than set the text to where you like. Do the Color thing again so your text is visible. Set the text font you like and the size however you like.

12. FINALLY some text effects! XD Go to Effects > Photo > Glow than set the effects however you like. Unless you want to go back and add more effects to the graphic. When you save it just click OK when the first pop-up appears than another pop-up will appear and than click Flatten. Were done! My final result.
