HG/SS Legendary Guide

Have trouble catching HG/SS Lagendaries?? This guide can help you! Please don't take it unless you'll credit me! ^_^

The HeartGold Ho-Oh

After beating Team Rocket at Goldenrod's Radio Tower, the Director will come and give you a Rainbow Wing. Scroll through his talking than go to the Dance Theater. It looks like those traditional Japanese houses. You'll have to fight the Kimono Girls you helped during some parts of the game. I would suggest going to the Pokemon Center before battling the Girls. You cannot have any breaks while battling each of them. All their Pokemon are lvl.38 and they are all Eeveelutions. Ho-Oh can be found at the top of Bell Tower in Ecruteck City which is 10 floors!>.< When you get to the top the Kimono Girls will do their dance and Ho-Oh will fly down. Scroll through A Kimono girl's talking than walk towards Ho-Oh and press A. It'll start to play Ho-Oh's battle theme song. Ho-Oh is a Fire/Flying type and is at lvl.45. So it's best to bring Pokemon that knows Water, Rock or Electric type moves. Don't bring out a Grass type Pokemon right away. Ho-Oh has Fire-type moves of course. Chomp out a chunk of it's HP with Electric, Rock, or Water-type moves. Than whittle the HP down with Grass, and Fire-type moves. Try to get Ho-Oh's HP down as low as possible like down to when it's red. Be cautious about it's Sunny Day! It raises it's Fire-type moves which makes Sacred Fire and Fire Blast deadly. If you have the Master Ball Prof. Elm gave you after doing the Dragon Master test thing at Blackthorn City than you can use it. Don't panic if you faint Ho-Oh this time, you can battle it again at the top of Tin Tower after beating the Pokemon League. So if you have any questions just contact me.

The SoulSilver Ho-Oh

You can only battle this Ho-Oh after deafeting the Pokemon League and beat all Gyms in Kanto and Jhoto and you need the National Pokedex! You need a Rainbow Wing also which you can get in Pewter City by talking to a old guy on a hill by using Rock Climb. After that go to Ecruteck City and go to Tin Tower than get to the top for Ho-Oh to appear. You don't need to go to the Dance Theater and beat the Kimono Girls for SoulSilver if your catching Ho-Oh. The Ho-Oh is the same as HeartGold but it is at lvl.70!!! I suggest bringing Lv.71+ Pokemon. Like the HeartGold Ho-Oh, bring Electric, Rock or Water types, or Pokemon with same move types. Like HeartGold chomp a lot of it's HP out with the Electric, Rock or Water type moves or Pokemon you have. Than take bits of its HP with Grass or Fire type moves. Than you can catch it. You can use your Master Ball if you have it. So that finishes up my Ho-Oh guides.

The SoulSilver Lugia

Now were on to Lugia!

The SoulSilver Lugia

Same as Ho-Oh in HeartGold after beating Team Rocket at Goldenrod's Radio Tower the Director guy will come up and say some stuff and give you a Rainbow Wing but in SoulSilver you get a Silver Wing. It's the same thing with Ho-Oh in HeartGold but you go to the Whirl Islands near Olivine City. You need a surfing Pokemon and a Pokemon that knows WhirlPool to get to the Whirl Islands. You also need a Pokemon that knows Flash to light up the cave. To get to Lugia's Chamber you need to proceed to where the island nearest to Olivine City. The Kimono Girls will do their dance (Like Ho-Oh in HeartGold). Than Lugia appears! You need Surf to approach Lugia when you battle it. When your in front of it press A and the battle begins. Have Pokemon that know Ice, Dark, Electric or Rock type moves to chomp out a great amount of HP. Lugia is Flying/Psychic so Psychic, and Grass will work to tackle Lugia's HP down to red. Throw Ultra Balls or Dusk Balls to try and catch it. Heavy Balls work too, since Lugia is quite heavy. Same as Ho-Oh in HeartGold, don't panic if you knock it out, you can battle it again in the same place after you beat the Pokemon League! Have any questions? you can contact me!

The HeartGold Lugia

It's same as Ho-Oh in SoulSilver, Lugis is Lv.70, same location in the Whirl Islands. You need a surfing Pokemon and a Pokemon that knows Whirlpool to get to the Whirl Islands. You need a Pokemon that knows Flash to light up the cave. It's the same when you get the Rainbow Wing in Pewter City from the old guy on a hill that you can reach using Rock Climb. You get the Silver Wing. Go to Whirl Islands from Olivine City and proceed through the island nearest Olivine City. When you go down to Lugia's Chamber, Lugia is right there and you need Surf to approach Lugia. Same as Ho-Oh in SoulSilver I suggest Lv.71+ Pokemon that know Electric, Rock, Ice or Dark-type moves to take a lot of Lugia's HP out. Than use Grass, and Psychic work to whittle Lugia's HP down to red. Throw Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls or a Heavy Ball. You can use a Master Ball you got from Prof. Elm. So that's it for the main Legendaries for HG/SS! ^__^ Hope you enjoyed it!

The Legendary Dogs

Raikou, Entei and Suicune are here too! Guide coming soon. You can use Marriland.com's HG/SS guide too! ^__^
